Clonoe O’Rahilly’s Weekly Notes
For Monday 10th April 2017
On Sunday past the senior squad got back to league action after the winter break. First up were the reserves who put up a strong second half performance with some fine scores to come away with the win scoring 0.11 to Donaghmore’s 0.7. The senior team were less fortunate however with the home side taking advantage of a strong breeze in the second half to fire some long range scores and ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 0.15 to 1.7. The game did not end without casualty with Stephen McNulty picking up a nasty knee injury and we wish him a speedy recovery. This Saturday the Reserves and Seniors travel to Greencastle for 4.30pm and 6pm Throw-ins respectively.
On Wednesday evening past the Minor boys also took on Donaghmore St Patrick’s in O’Rahilly Park. In a game full of quality scores, high fielding and courageous tackling it was the visitors who narrowly claimed the points at the final whistle on a scoreline of 2.13 to 3.13. This Wednesday the Minor boys are at home to Rock St Patrick’s, throw-in at 7pm.
The Minor girls travelled to Killeeshil St Mary’s tonight where a strong showing in front of the goals saw us coming away with a share of the League points on a scoreline of O’Rahilly’s 7.3 to Killeeshil’s 3.15. Next Monday (17th) the Minor girls are at home to Errigal Ciaran for a 6.45pm throw in.
U14 boys travel to Cookstown tomorrow evening to take on Fr Rock’s, throw-in at 7pm.
The U14 girls hosted Aodh Ruadh at O’Rahilly Park on Thursday past and saw off the challenge, winning on a scoreline of 2.7 to 1.2. The next U14 girls’ game will be on Thursday 20th at home to Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa with a 6.45pm throw-in.
U10s, U8s and U6s coaching sessions will continue on Thursday evening from 6-7pm. There will be a youth registration opportunity at this session.
The committee is happy to announce that main men’s sponsor, Brendan Campbell & Sons, have agreed a further three year sponsorship deal. The Campbell family have been strong supporters of the club on and off the field for generations and we are delighted to wear the family business name on the Minor, Reserve & Senior men’s jerseys.
