First Tyrone JFC title win for Clonoe O’Rahilly’s…

Clonoe O’Rahillys celebrated a historic triumph in the 2017 Tyrone Ladies GFA Junior Championship, sponsored by Pat Fahy, with a final win over Trillick St Macartans. Clonoe recovered from a 1-7 to 0-4 half-time deficit to come back and secure the honours on a 1-12 to 1-10 scoreline.

On Saturday the Senior Ladies made history by overcoming Trillick St Macartan’s to lift the Tyrone Junior Football Championship.  A Strong breeze was against the O’Rahilly girls in the first half and made scoring very difficult.  With wet conditions also hampering playing conditions the O’Rahillys trailed by 6pts at half time.  A spirited performance in the second half brought the girls storming back into the game with great attacking football and determined defending.  Trillick continued to push back at the lead we opened up but at the final whistle it was the O’Rahilly women who stood victorious.  Jubulant scenes followed from players and the many supporters when Eimear Cushnahan lifted the Championship Cup.  Huge congratulations to all the players and managers who have put in the hard work throughout the season.
