Player Welfare

Player welfare is an important issue within the GAA, and within Clonoe O’Rahillys GAC. Below are links which provide information on player welfare within the GAA. They include information on topics such as bullying, medical welfare and mental illness.

Mental Health and Well-being describes your mental state and effects every 6 one of us. It effects how we think and feel about ourselves and our lives and how well you can cope with day-to-day life. Our mental well-being can change, from day to day, month to month or year to year.

It is important for individuals to recognize that mental illnesses are real, treatable illnesses from which people can and do recover. When having a conversation with someone whom you believe may be experiencing symptoms of a mental illness, it is important to approach the conversation with respect and dignity for that individual and to not blame the individual for his or her symptoms.
